2008 PURE STOCKS
The following rules are set to provide for the orderly conduct of racing program. No implied Warranty of Safety shall result from the publication, or compliance of these rules. They are to be as a guide and are in NO WAY a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or officials. Any interpretation of the rules is left up to the Officials, whose decision is Final. Just because it is not written, does not mean you can do it!!! This is a new and inexpensive class this class was designed in order to give the average race fan a chance to experience the trill of racing with a little expense. Anyone taking advantage of these rules will not be permitted to compete. This is a trophy class only no prize money will be awarded.
ELIGIBILITY: American made passenger cars (such as Ford, Gm and Chrysler) that are front wheel drive. No convertibles or two seat coupes.
SAFETY AND OTHERS: All cars must have standard safety equipment. Must have 4-point safety harness, properly mounted with grade bolts. Harness must be within 5 years old, and must have the original factory identification tag. An aluminum racing seat is highly recommended but not mandatory. Can use factory seat but must be braced so that it can’t flip forward. Must have window net in good condition, and be securely fastened on the bottom and have a quick release on the top. Must have a racing approved helmet of a current standards of 95 snell rating or later. Must have a SFI approved fire suit. (All suits must be clean and no holes or rips in the material.) Must have a fully charged extinguisher properly mounted and within drivers reach. Racing gloves are not mandatory, but highly recommended.
SAFETY RULES ARE SUBJECT TO INSPECTION BY SAFETY COMMITTEE AT ANY TIME!
ABSOLUTELY NO TOLERANCE ON ANT SAFETY RULES!
ROLL CAGE A properly mounted four-(4) post (min) design roll cage using 1 ¾"by .095 wall thickness (min) tubing must be used. The cage should be properly welded to the frame. Must have a minimum of 3 door bars on the driver’s side, and minimum of 2 bars on the right side, a cross bar connecting the front posts should be above the steering column. All bars around driver must be padded. No left side or set back cages permitted.
BODY: The body and frame must be of the same make, model, and year. All body panels must be completely stock and in stock location. Must retain factory window openings and roof height. May have a stock windshield or full piece of lexan securely fastened, all other glass must be removed. NO SIDE WINDOWS! No hood scoops. No modification or installation of spoilers or side skirting. Rub rails are permitted ( no sharp edges ). Doors must be welded shut! Hood and trunk lid must have pins.
INTERIOR: Must have factory firewalls (front and rear) and floor pans in the stock location. All interior must be removed except the factory driver’s seat (if not using racing seat). All inner panels must be in stock location with the exception of removing the inner door panels to have clearance of door bars. No other body panels can be gutted such as hood, trunk lid, etc.. No sharp edges anywhere. All holes and openings must be patched with steel. Any wiring though firewalls must be sealed with silicone. If battery is mounted inside drivers compartment, it must be securely mounted and covered so that it can’t be dislodged or leak in an accident while competing. Must use the stock pedals, shifters and must retain ask factory dash assembly.
FRAME: Frame must be of the same make/model as the body style being used. Frame must not be altered. Must be complete front to rear with stock bumpers.
SUSPENSION: All suspension components must be stock and in stock locations, with absolutely no alterations of any kind. Must have the factory stock springs that match make, model, and year. No switching of springs from other models and must have the same number of coils on both sides. No altering of the springs in any way. All shocks and struts must be factory or OEM replacement only with no alterations. Must use the factory caster, and camber settings with no alterations to the spindles, strut towers, etc. NO BALLAST WEIGHT ADDED ANYWHERE
BRAKES; All brakes must be operational on all 4 wheels. Absolutely no brake proportioning control devices of any kind. Front calipers, and rear (if factory), Master cylinders, brake rotors; wheel cylinders all must be stock or factory OEM replacements. No racing style parts permitted!
TIRES & WHEELS: Must have factory wheels, and street radial tires with a max width of 65 series. All 4 tires and wheels must be the same size up to 15" max. No high performance tires or softeners of any kind permitted! Tires may be confiscated if there is a discrepancy.
4Cly. Cars may use 60 series tires and must be a DOT tire.
FUEL SYSTEM: Stock fuel tanks must have four (4) straps, and can be relocated to the trunk area. Can use a racing fuel cell (8 – 10 gal.) Both must have a steel firewall between it and the driver’s compartment! Must use the stock fuel pump and be in the stock location. All fuel lines must be routed under vehicle and along frame and be made of steel line. No rubber hose except for connecting to fuel cell (if used), and fuel rail with double clamps.
TRANSMISSION: Stock transmission and drive line only. Must have all forward and reverse gears. Must have factory stock torque converters. No locking of gears, or carrier and may be asked to prove that transmission does up-shift automatically. Standard transmission can be used if engine is 4 cylinders. No high performance clutch assemblies permitted.
ENGINE: Engines can be four (4) or six (6) cylinders, with single camshafts. No turbo charged engines or dual over head cam engines permitted. The engine must be in stock location with the stock location with the stock mounts. Maximum engine sizes are GM3.1, Ford 3.0, and Chry 3.0 All engines must be stock with absolutely no modifications of any kind! No racing components from any manufacture. Engine must match make, model, and year using. No high performance electronic device of any kind, (no after market computer chips, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, airflow sensors, throttle bodies etc.) Absolutely no gasket matching, porting, grinding, deburring, or polishing of any kind anywhere on engine assembly! Must have factory stock starter. Must use water only in cooling system no Anti-Freeze.
EXHAUST: Must be stock from manifold (with the exception of removing catalytic converter) and must match make, model and year as body style. Manifolds may not be modified in any way. Exhaust pipe(s) must exit behind driver and out either side, but not to exceed the rocker panels.
ENGINE PROTEST: Any owner or driver that finishes on the lead lap at the end of the feature event in this division may protest an engine. The cost of this protest is $200.00 in cash and must be done within 5 minutes after the checkered flag of the feature event. The protest will consist of inspecting the intake manifold, cylinder head(s), exhaust manifold, and cubic inch. If the car under the protest if found to be legal than the owner of that car will retain the protest fee, however if found to be illegal than the protest fee will be returned to the owner/driver that is protesting. The track reserves the right to inspect any vehicle’s engine at any time at the owner’s expense. Any owner/driver that does not comply with inspection or uses abusive language or actions will be disqualified and may be fined with points or money. (Subject to approval by Tech Official)
APPEARANCE: Numbers must be on both doors and windshield. Letter P .must be on the right corner of the windshield. In order to benefit your sponsors, make sure your car is neatly lettered and painted. All numbers must be min. of 24inches tall and a min.of 4inches wide. And must be painted in bright colors. (All numbers must be registered prior to your first race night) All cars must run a Thomarios Powder Coating decal across the top of the windshield to be eligible for point fund. Decal will be supplied by the track.
RADIOS: A one way receiving radio/scanner locked on the frequency 151.955 is mandatory and must be operable at all times car is on the track. Any car that does not respond to radio communication for line up on restarts will be placed at rear of pack. Any communication between driver and any pit crewmember will result in complete and immediate disqualification!
UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT: ANY OWNER, DRIVER, OR PIT MEMBER MAY BE FINED AND/OR SUSPENDED. FINES MUST BE PAID BEFORE PARTICIPANT CAN RETURN TO THE TRACK.
MAJOR RULE INFRACTIONS: Any driver or car found illegal after the feature with any major rule infraction will forfeit all money won that night and all points for that night and possible points for the season. The second offense will result in suspension and loss of points and money. Any further infraction will result in suspension for the remainder of the season. ANY ILLEGAL PARTS MAY BE CONFISCATED.
NOTE: Any creative interpretation of these rules should be checked with track owner or the tech official. Please ask if not sure what the correct rule is before building your racecar. These rules are set for the safety and inexpensive participation for all competitors in the PURE STOCK DIVISION. Always remember that the decisions of officials are final and are not subject to debate!
PRACTICE WILL BE EVERY WEDNESDAY FROM 3-7 P.M.
