
The following rules are set to
provide for the orderly conduct of racing program. No implied Warranty of Safety
shall result from the publication, or compliance of these rules. They are to be
as a guide and are in NO WAY a guarantee against injury or death to
participants, spectators, or Officials. Any interpretation of the rules is left
up to the Officials, whose decision is Final. Just because it is not written,
does not mean you can do it!!! This is a new and inexpensive class.
This class was design in order to give the average race fan a chance to
experience the trill of racing with a little expense. Anyone taking advantage of
these rules will not be permitted to compete.
Safety: All cars must have standard safety equipment. Must have 5 point safety harness, properly mounted with grade eight bolts. Harness must be within 5 years old, and must have the original factory identification tag. Must have window net in good condition, and be securely fastened on the bottom and have a quick release on the top. Must have a SFI approved fire suit. (All suits must be clean and no holes or rips in the material.) Must have a fully charged extinguisher properly mounted and within driver’s reach, Racing gloves are not mandatory, but highly recommended. Must have a main power (battery) disconnect switch located behind drivers seat and must be easily accessible by safety crew. All cars must pass a safety inspection at any time. There will be absolutely no tolerance of these safety rules.
Eligibility: Only
American cars with a wheel base of 108” min. No Camaros, Firebirds, or
Mustangs!
Roll cage: A properly
mounted four (4) post (min) design roll cage using 1 ¾ by .095 wall thickness
(min) tubing must be used. The cage
should be properly welded to the frame. Must
have a minimum of 3 door bars on the driver’s side, and minimum of 2 bars on
the right side, a cross bar connecting the front posts should be above the
steering column. Can use X bar
connecting the rear posts and support bars from the top of cage down to the rear
frame. All bars around driver must
be padded. No left side or set back
cages permitted. Can use front hoop
from front of roll cage, with two (2) support bars to frame on both sides of
upper control arm. Can use one (1)
rear support bar from top of cage down to rear frame on each side with two (2)
down bars only, for each side. Rear
frame past arch may be repaired with square tubing.
Wheels: All wheels must be steel and maximum width of 8". Right front must be racing type. 1/2 wheel studs mandatory on right front and 1" lug nuts mandatory on remaining wheels.
Tires:
Goodyear #2862 or # 2863 track tires on
8” steel wheels. A minimum
durometer reading will be in effect. Durometer TBA. Tires may be checked at any
time during the course of race day. Any tire found with a discrepancy may be
confiscated.
Body:
The body and frame must be of the same make, model, and year.
All body panels must be completely stock and in stock location.
Must retain factory window openings and roof height.
May have a stock windshield or full piece of lexan securely fastened. All
other glass must be removed. NO SIDE
WINDOWS! No hood scoops.
No Modification or installation of spoilers or side skirting.
Rub rails permitted no sharp edges. May
use aftermarket nose and tail pieces. But must match make, model and year.
May remove front inner fender wells.
Front and rear fenders can be slightly altered to have clearance of
tires. Door must be welded.
Hood and trunk lid must have pins.
All cars must have the letter H
and the car number on the upper right corner of windshield in yellow or white,
and be no smaller than 4” tall. All numbers on both doors and roof should be
made so that they can be read clearly, and minimum of 24” in height and 4’
wide. Number on the roof must be read from passenger side. (All numbers must be
registered prior to your first race night) All cars must run the point fund
sponsor decal across the top of the windshield to be eligible for point fund.
Will be supplied by track.
Interior:
Must have factory firewalls (front and rear) and floor pans in the
stock location. May remove
inner door panels and stock steering column. Aftermarket column may be used.
Stock dash may be removed. Hood, trunk lid and trunk may be gutted.
No sharp edges anywhere. All
holes and openings must be patched with steel.
Any wiring or tubing through firewalls must be sealed with silicone.
If battery is mounted inside driver’s compartment, it must be securely
mounted and covered so that it can’t be dislodged or leak in an accident while
competing. A properly mounted
aluminum racing seat with headrest is mandatory.
Frame:
Frame must be stock from front frame horns to past the rear arch.
If using aftermarket front and rear covers must have proper bracing.
No excessive tubing for bumpers. Frame
must not be altered in any way. Must
have a drive shaft safety loop.
Suspension:
All suspension components must be stock and in stock location.
Aftermarket bushings such as polyurethane may be used. (No steel ) No
altering of upper or lower control arms. No
altering of any and all steering components.
No altering of the rear upper and lower trailing arms.
No modifications to sway bar or mount.
Racing springs are permitted. All
shocks must be stock and in the stock location.
No racing shocks permitted. Must
have a minimum of 5” frame height along length of frame.
Must have factory rear differential housings with stock carriers (spider
gears can be welded). No limited
slip differentials of any kind permitted.
Brakes:
All brakes must be operational on all 4 wheels.
No rear disc brakes permitted. Absolutely
no brake proportioning control devices of any kind.
Front calipers, Master cylinders, brake rotors, wheel cylinders all must
be stock or factory OEM replacements. No
racing style components permitted!
Engines: V8 and V6 only. If using V6 no larger than 3.8 V8 engines can be 305 (chev), 307 (olds), 301 (pont), 302 (ford), 318 (chry) Can use 305 in all GM cars. All engines must use stock flat top pistons with 4 stock valve relieves. Must retain stock factory stroke and may be .030 over, stock bore no tolerance. All engines must be hydraulic cam only. No Rollers. Cylinder heads must be stock cast iron and must be matching for engine running. (i.e. No 350 heads on 305 block) etc. Must use only stock replacement parts. A maximum of .010 block decking and a maximum of .020 head resurfacing. Pinning of rocker arm studs or screw in type are allowed. No roller rockers. Stud Girdles Allowed. Maximum valve size for all engines can be no larger than 1.88” int. and 1.50” exh. Can use an aftermarket oil pan with baffle for oil pump. Stock cast iron 2bbl. Intake manifolds only! No aftermarket pulley assemblies, or Distributors, electronic ignition modules, water pumps must be cast iron, No aluminum parts. Aluminum radiators are permitted. Must have a catch can for radiator overflow mounted in trunk area.
Fuel system: A fuel cell
is mandatory and must be mounted in the trunk area. Trunk floor can be cut out.
Must have a bar welded across frame in front of fuel cell for protection. All
fuel lines must be routed under vehicle and along frame and be made of steel
line. (No rubber hose except for connecting to fuel cell and the fuel pump with
double clamps).
Carbs: Stock 2 bbl.
only, (No modifications) must have 2 throttle return springs. May use
Stock Holley #4412 Unmodified out of box carburetor. You may be asked to swap
carbs with a track owned carb if a discrepancy is present or suspected.
Exhaust: Must be stock
cast iron. And must match make, model and year as body style.
No later model style manifolds such as LT1.
No center dumps of any kind. Manifolds
may not be modified in any way. No
Header type manifolds. Exhaust pipes
must exit behind driver and out either side.
Trans: 3 & 4 speed
Automatic only. No 2 speed (power glides etc.) No C6 trans. for fords. No 727
for Chrysler. Must use stock torque converter 12” diameter. No stall speeds.
Must have vent hose on trans. to prevent fluid leaking onto track. No aluminum
drive shaft and it must be painted white
Weight:
All weights and measurements are done with driver in the car and
after the feature. 3,200 lbs. includes driver. 56% left side max. and 48% rear
max. NO TOLERANCE. Top 3 finishers and 1 picked at random must go directly
to the tech building after feature or may result in disqualification.
Radios: A One-way
receiving radio Scanner Locked to Frequency 151.955 is Mandatory and must be operable at all times car is on track. Any car
that does not respond to radio communication for line up on restarts will be
placed at rear of pack. Any communications between pit crew and driver will
result in complete disqualification!
UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT: ANY
OWNER, DRIVER, OR PIT MEMBER MAY BE FINED AND/OR SUSPENDED. FINES MUST BE PAID
BEFORE PARTICIPANT CAN RETURN TO THE TRACK.
MAJOR RULE INFRACTIONS: Any
driver or car found illegal after the feature with any major rule infraction
will forfeit all money won that night and all points for that night and possible
points for the season. The second offense will result in suspension and loss of
points and money. Any further infraction will result in suspension for the
remainder of the season. ANY ILLEGAL PARTS MAY BE CONFISCATED.
REMEMBER:
The Division is intended for safe, inexpensive participation.
Abuse of creative interpretation of these rules will not be tolerated.
Track official have final say as to the interpretation or intent of these rules
and the final decision as to whether or not any car can compete.
ENGINE PROTEST: Any
owner or driver in this class may protest an engine. They must be in competition
the night of the protest. The cost is $200.00 in cash and must be done within
5min. after the checkered flag of the feature. If the car being protested is
found to be legal the owner of the protested car will keep the protest fee. If
the protested car is found illegal the fee will be returned to the protester.
The protest will consist of checking the head, intake and exhaust manifold and
cam and cubic inch.
**The track reserves the right
to check any cars engine at any time at owner’s expense. Any driver who
refuses to comply with any check or who subjects officials to abusive language
will be disqualified.
